Winged Words: Greek Poetry in Song

This unique musical performance is designed and performed by Greek mezzo-soprano Alexandra Gravas. The performance combines modern Greek music with both traditional and contemporary Greek poetry.  The poetry of seminal modern Greek poet Constantine Cavafy will be prominently featured.  The work of poets George Seferis, Odysseas Elytis, Yannis Ritsos, and others will also be showcased.

The concert is presented in conjunction with GSU’s neoPhonia New Music Ensemble and the Center for Hellenic Studies.
